On Chex Systems--How Do I Get Paid WIth Direct Deposit for New Job?
I found out a couple weeks ago that I was on Chex Systems. I already paid the amount I owed the bank a couple years ago, but it's still on the record, and I understand you can't get it removed for 5 years if the bank doesn't want to remove it.
I tried opening an account with Bank One / Chase, but they said no since I was in the system and most banks check and will most likely decline me.
Here's my problem: I started a job this week that ONLY uses direct deposit. They won't deposit the paycheck into an account unless my name is on it. They said they'll hold my pay until I open a checking account though because I'm hoping on finding a solution in the next couple weeks.
Any suggestions?
I believe there's a program called "Get Checking" that I can get into...has anyone gone through this process?
Are there any direct deposit accounts I can use to deposit my paycheck into besides a checking account? Thanks!
Try US bank or key bank for a second chance checking, even if you have to drive far. Ask US bank for atm card that can be used only at atms . This way you can have access to your money especially if you live far away. Key bank has a unlimited pin debit card only account but still can be set up for direct deposits. Key bank charges you a percentage of each deposit. Don't listen to what banks tell you about other banks. Most do check telecheck and checksystem. Some others will allow you to have savings accounts with or without an atm card.
Another thing you can do if none of those bank can help you. Is get a prepaid that is a reloadable debit card it can be set up for direct deposit but this is the most expensive way to go and these cards have only a limit on how much the card can be at one time. Make sure you get one that will let your withdraw from an atm.
Saving accounts unless done in person are limited to four withdraws a month in the U.S.
