Does internet surfing at work go straight to a server?
I work in a large office and use the internet to check my email, do online banking, check out my stocks and read the news (cnn.com) during the day. Not a lot, but enough to where it concerns me to ask this question. Is there a way to hide my internet habits at work? Does the information go straight to the server? I obviously use usernames and passwords to access some of this information and I don't want the company to know them. Is there anything I can do or is it all controlled on the other end?
All information goes to through your company server. Often the IT staff are asked to review what employees are doing on company time. Inside the company even a proxy won't help every site you visit, every picture, every keystroke. wasting a company's valuable resources and the time you're being paid to do your job is getting to be a big deal all over the world. In some places it can grounds to fire you....so be careful..hope this helps..R.
